Pamela Wheelock serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Minnesota Sports and Entertainment (MSE). She joined the organization in September 2002 and is responsible for overseeing all financial, administrative, human resource and information technology matters for the enterprise and financial analysis to support the strategic initiatives and company operations. Additionally, she provides oversight on facility management and bookings of the Saint Paul RiverCentre and Xcel Energy Center.
Prior to joining MSE, Wheelock served as Commissioner of the Department of Finance for the State of Minnesota. As Commissioner, she was responsible for managing the state’s financial affairs, which included development and coordination of the state’s biennial $42.8 billion budget. Governor Jesse Ventura appointed her to the position in January of 1999.
Wheelock has also served as director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development with the City of Saint Paul from 1996 to 1999. Appointed by Mayor Norm Coleman, she was responsible for directing and implementing the economic development of the city. During her tenure, Wheelock was responsible for successfully negotiating several high-profile development projects within Saint Paul, including the bid that returned the National Hockey League (NHL) to Minnesota. She also served as Deputy Mayor for Mayor Coleman from 1994 to 1996.
Wheelock holds a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from Marquette University in Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of Saint Catherine in Saint Paul, where she now serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees. She also serves on the boards of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, the Greater Twin Cities United Way, Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, Saint Paul RiverCentre and Convention Authority and the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs Advisory Council. She resides in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
