Joe Sullivan - Head Coach and Associate General Manager


Joe Sullivan

Sullivan, 45, completed his fifth season with the Swarm in 2014 and third as the team's head coach and associate general manager. The native of Peterborough, Ontario was named the team's associate general manager prior to the 2012 season and was promoted to head coach on Feb. 22 after spending time as an assistant coach. As head coach in 2012, Sullivan guided the Swarm to a 6-4 record and the team's first ever playoff victory. For his efforts, Sullivan was named the 2012 NLL Head Coach of the Year. Sullivan has guided the Swarm to back-to-back NLL Division Finals appearances from 2012-13.

Sullivan has also served as an assistant coach with the Toronto Rock in 2009 and the Chicago Shamrox in 2008.

Sullivan is currently an assistant coach for the MSL’s Peterborough Lakers where he has helped lead the team to three Mann Cup championships as well as multiple Canadian National Championships. As a head coach, Sullivan was awarded “Coach of the Year” in Senior “B” Ontario. As a player, he won a Junior “A” Minto Cup in 1989 and later played in the MSL for the Brooklin Redmen and Peterborough Lakers.
