Schimke, 24, is entering his fifth season with the Minnesota Swarm and serves as the Manager of Media & Lacrosse Relations. Prior to his current position, Schimke spent three seasons working as an intern in the Swarm’s Media Department from 2009-11.
Schimke’s responsibilities include producing both print and digital content for mnswarm.com as well as working with both local and national media members.
Schimke attended Eastview H.S. (Apple Valley, Minn.) and recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Professional Journalism. While in college, Schimke spent a semester studying at one of the nation’s only Sports Media programs at Oklahoma State University. At OSU, Schimke was a football beat writer with the school’s newspaper, the Daily O’Collegian, as well as worked in live sports productions, which included time with ESPN College Gameday.
In his free time, Schimke enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, writing, photography, attending sporting events, and golfing. He also enjoys cheering on the Cowboys (OSU and the Dallas Cowboys) every football season. Schimke currently resides in Minneapolis.
