Two weeks after falling 13-12 at Toronto, Minnesota flipped the script on Treasure Island Field, besting Toronto by the same score in an overtime thriller.
Transition player Tyler Hass was hot from the get-go, scoring the first two goals of the game for Minnesota. However, it was his final score that sealed a hat trick for the 6-foot-6 transition player and provided the Swarm with the 13-12 overtime victory.
“Tonight was huge,” Hass said after the game. “Teams have been adapting to us this year. I’ve found the’re sending two, three guys back and we got what we wanted tonight.”
After the emotional home win, Hass was named the NLL’s Transition Player of the Week.
Leading up to the game-winning goal were a series of critical plays to highlight Minnesota’s team effort on the night. Carlson deftly made a save from a powerful Rock shot. Next, Sorensen scooped up the loose balls and fed it to Hass. He did the rest and ‘The Hive’ erupted after Minnesota had won its second game of 2013.
