The Minnesota Swarm hosted it's second annual Swarm Girls Lacrosse Camp at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul earlier this week. A total of 23 girls ranging from grades nine through twelve spent three days learning from coaches and players from the University of Notre Dame's Women's Lacrosse team.
"The girls look better this year," said Meredith Simon, who is an Assistant Coach at Notre Dame, "They have improved a lot since day one and really have enjoyed being here. They are soaking in all the information that we are giving them and they are learning so much."
Simon was also joined by four other college coaches who spent their collegiaite playing careers at Notre Dame. One of those coaches was Notre Dame's all-time leading scorer and current Yale Assistant Coach,Jill Byers.
"It's great to come out here because Minnesota isn't really a hot bed for lacrosse," said Byers. "We have a lot of beginners, but there is a lot of talent out here. We've a seen a lot of improvement in the girls which is great to see."
