SAINT PAUL, Minn.– The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm today announced that the team has re-signed D Eric Pacey and D Nick Inch to two-year contracts. The Swarm also reached a two-year agreement with F Matt Lyons.
Pacey, 32, collected 28 loose balls and posted five points (3g, 2a) in 13 game appearances for the Swarm during the 2010 season. The nine-year veteran has recorded 57 points (20g, 37a) and 282 loose balls in 100 career games for Minnesota, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
“Eric will once again provide leadership and a heavy defensive hand for the Swarm. Along with Ryan Cousins, Jon Sullivan and Travis Hill, he has been with the club since our inception providing these attributes,” General Manager Marty O’Neill said. “The 2010 season was Eric's best, and we hope to have an even better year in 2011."
Inch, 25, appeared in seven games during the 2010 season and collected 19 loose balls for the Swarm. The Kitchener, Ontario native began his NLL career in 2008 with the Swarm. In 30 career games, Inch has recorded seven points (0g, 7a) and 89 loose balls for Minnesota.
“I'm very pleased to have Nick Inch back and ready to go for the 2011 season,” O’Neill said. “Nick finished the 2010 season strong and we are looking to build on that in the coming months."
Lyons, 24, a three-year veteran of Boston and Rochester, is a new addition to Minnesota. In 2009, Lyons appeared in all 16 games and recorded a career-high 52 points (21g, 31a) and 62 loose balls. In 35 career games, Lyons has posted 78 points (34g, 44a) and collected 119 loose balls.
“Matt will come into camp to fight for a role in the right-handed offensive player category. He brings youth, size, skill and enthusiasm to the field,” said O’Neill.
