Tanguay (pictured), Campbell, Teeter and Cudmore agree to one-year deals

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Lacrosse League’s (NLL) Minnesota Swarm today announced that the team has agreed to one-year contracts with rookies T Tyler Tanguay (4th round, No. 37 overall), D Bryan Campbell (5th round, No. 42 overall), F Michael Teeter (5th round, No. 49 overall) and T Chris Cudmore (6th round, No. 51 overall).

Tanguay, 22, recorded 27 points (13g, 14a) during his senior season at Adrian College in 2012. As a junior with the Bulldogs, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound midfielder scored a career-high 36 goals, which ranked third on the team. The Port Colborne, Ontario native played Junior A lacrosse with St. Catharines in 2011 and tied for third on the team with 66 points (20g, 46a).

“Tyler is going to help our transition game and we expect him to come in and play for a position,” Swarm associate general manager and head coach Joe Sullivan said. “He’s another piece to our youth movement.”

Campbell, 21, was a four-year midfielder at Brock University from 2009-12 and appeared in 28 career games. This past summer, the 6-foot, 195-pound defender played for the OLA’s Junior B Oakville Buzz and posted 14 points (4g, 10a). Campbell also spent time playing Junior A ball with the Burlington Chiefs in 2011 and notched 12 points (1g, 11a) in 21 games.

“Bryan is a defensive guy who has the ability to be a transition player,” Sullivan said. “I really like his size and athleticism. He’s a true defender and I’m excited to see him in camp.”

Teeter, 23, scored 11 points (5g, 6a) in eight games with the WLA’s Victoria Shamrocks this past summer. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound forward played his junior lacrosse with the OLA’s Junior A Orangeville Northmen and won Minto Cups in 2008 and 2009, where he was teammates with Andrew Suitor and Brock Sorensen.

“Michael has a great background and a feel for the game,” Sullivan said. “He brings quickness and the ability to finish on the left-side.”

Cudmore, 21, finished his career at Mars Hill College as a four-time first team All-Conference DSC selection and a three-time USILA Division II All-American. In his senior season in 2012, the Whitby, Ontario native recorded 81 ground balls and ranked 12th in the nation in ground balls per game. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound transition player played Junior B lacrosse with the OLA’s Green Gaels from 2009-11 and totaled 57 points (8g, 49a) in 45 games.

“Chris is a mature player and is one of the smartest kids that we were able to pick up,” Sullivan said. “He’s another guy that will bring intensity to camp.”

The one-year deals are currently pending league approval.
