Jes and Ginger are recognized during the Swarm's home contest on April 28.
During the West Division Championship on May 12, co-captains Jes and Ginger performed their last routines as members of the Swarm Performance Team (SPT).
Jes, a five-year veteran, and Ginger, a three-year veteran, led the SPT as the co-captains for the past two seasons. From helping with choreography to keeping team members updated, the ladies have been an integral part of the team.
“Tami and I have always said they are the glue that keeps the team together,” said SPT co-coach Allison Drusch. “With coaching on opposite nights, Tami and I can go months without seeing each other. Jes and Ginger made this co-coaching situation possible as they made each practice a smooth transition to the next. They glued together all of the details and were always looking ahead to what was coming next for the team.”
Only having one night a week to practice and perfect the routines, Jes and Ginger’s direction helped the team make the most of the time they had.
“Jes is always energetically motivating whether it is for practice, games or events,” Drusch said. “Ginger is always organized to a T and makes sure everyone is in line and doing what they should be doing. Their passion has shown in the amazing team we had last year. They have been wonderful role models for the past two years and many SPT years to come!”
Jes and Ginger returned to the SPT in 2012 with six other veterans; Annalisa, Beth, Jenna, Kara, Kayla, and Kristin, and two rookies; Kimberly and Richelle. With eight returning veterans and two talented rookies, the team gelled together quickly under the leadership of Jes and Ginger.
“Jes and Ginger are two of the most amazing leaders,” said first-year SPT member Kimberly. “They are welcoming, organized, and lead by example. They are always prepared and letting us know what we need to be doing or bringing to each practice and game. I have truly enjoyed every minute of being on the SPT with them and couldn't have asked for better captains.”
The Swarm organization extends its thanks to Jes and Ginger for their time, talent and contributions to the team.
