SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Lacrosse League (NLL) today announced that Minnesota Swarm F Jay Card has been named the Week #16 Rookie of the Week. Wednesday’s honor was Card’s first career weekly player of the week award.

In the Swarm’s 15-10 home victory against Philadelphia last weekend, Card tied a season-high four points (1g, 3a) and collected four loose balls. A third-round selection in 2011, Card is the third Swarm rookie to win the weekly award, joining G Evan Kirk and T Jordan MacIntosh.

"He worked hard to get each and every point," coach Joe Sullivan said. "It's great to see that he gets rewarded for that."

Card ranks sixth on the Swarm in scoring in 2012 with 32 points (12g, 20a) and has collected 37 loose balls.

The playoff bound Minnesota Swarm (8-7) host the Colorado Mammoth (11-4) this Saturday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. on Treasure Island Field at Xcel Energy Center. The game will be televised on national television on CBS Sports Network and lower level tickets can be purchased for as low as $20.
