SAINT PAUL, Minn. – For the second straight season, the Minnesota Swarm will be back in the national spotlight. Minnesota’s (8-7) final regular season game against the Colorado Mammoth (11-4) this Saturday from Treasure Island Field at Xcel Energy Center has been moved up to a 6:30 p.m. CT start time to accommodate a national television audience on CBS Sports Network.
“It’s very important to have live broadcasts of our games in order to continue to grow the popularity of the National Lacrosse League, and we are honored to have the opportunity to be one of the host cities,” Swarm Owner and President John Arlotta said. “Knowing our fans, they are going to come out loud and excited this Saturday.”
This weekend’s contest kicks off a back-to-back for Minnesota and Colorado. The two teams will meet again the following weekend in Denver during the first round of the NLL Playoffs. The Swarm enters the playoffs as the #3 seed in the West, while the Mammoth hold the #2 seed.
Earlier this year, the NLL reached a two-year agreement with CBS Sports Network to air NLL games during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. The 2012 broadcast schedule is comprised of eight games, culminating with the NLL Championship Game. To view the complete league schedule, visit nll.com.
