SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Fresh off a thrilling 10-9 overtime victory against the Rush at home on Friday night, the Minnesota Swarm (2-2) will now look to avenge last weekend’s 16-14 road loss to the Rochester Knighthawks (2-3) on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. during Dog Day at the Hive.

Minnesota's victory against Edmonton to open the weekend finished as the second longest contest in NLL history (72 minutes and 23 seconds.) Forward Ryan Benesch (3g) broke the 9-9 tie with 2:37 remaining in overtime to give Minnesota its second straight home win. Benesch, the league's defending scoring champion, has recorded at least a hat trick in all four games this season.

Sunday's Rematch: Minnesota led 9-6 at halftime during last Saturday's road matchup in Rochester, however a strong second half performance from the Knighthawks proved to be too much for the Swarm. Benesch led the team with seven points (4g, 3a) and rookie T Jordan MacIntosh recorded his first career hat trick in the loss.

Scoring Power: The Swarm will once again get the difficult task of defending Rochester F Cody Jamieson, who ranks second in the league in scoring with 36 points (16g, 20a). Jamieson had nine points (3g, 6a) in the last meeting between the two teams. Swarm F Callum Crawford is tied for third on the league leader board having notched 29 points (8g, 21a) in 2012.

Defensive Mindset: Swarm D Joe Cinosky enters Sunday's game with a league-high nine forced turnovers. The fourth-year pro scored his first career NLL goal on Friday night and also received the game ball from coach Mike Lines afterwards in the locker room.

Making an Impact: MacIntosh, who was named to his first career All-Star Game earlier this week, ranks third in faceoff wins (69) and loose balls (44) in the NLL.

Standings: With a win against Rochester, Minnesota will move into a second place tie with Calgary (3-2) in the West Division.

Dog Day: On Sunday, the Swarm will have some extra noise in the building when the team hosts its annual Dog Day at the Hive. For only $10, fans are invited to watch the game with their dogs from the upper bowl.

“We’ve done this the past two years and we’ve had a great turnout,” Lines said. “It’s such a great way to get families out and then you have the dogs there as well. It’s something different and we look forward to it every year.”

Series Update: Lines and Co. have not beaten Rochester since 2008, and will use last Saturday’s loss as a way to prepare for this weekend’s matchup. The Swarm are 2-5 all-time against the Knighthawks at home.

“We played a 45 minute game against Rochester (last week),” he said. “If we played a 60 minute game there, then it’s a different story. That’s what we’re going to have to do. The league is so close this year. It can be anybody, any game.”

Channel 45: Friday’s contest against Edmonton will air on Sunday at 4 p.m. as a delayed broadcast on Channel 45. The Swarm’s game vs. Rochester will air next Sunday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. on Channel 45. For ticket information to the doubleheader, visit mnswarm.com or call 1-888-MN-SWARM.
