Andrew Suitor #20
SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Swarm announced today that team captain T Andrew Suitor has been selected to start at transition for the 2012 West All-Stars. This is Suitor’s first All-Star selection.
“It’s just an honor, I wasn’t expecting this,” Suitor said. “I’m really excited to be able to sit in the same dressing room with the people that will be there. It’s something that I’ll learn from and take full advantage of and I’ll do whatever I can out on the floor.”
Suitor, 22, has recorded six points (2g, 4a), 27 loose balls, and is 10/12 on faceoffs in three contests this season. The Orangeville, Ontario native was recently named the Transition Player of the Week after notching a hat trick in only one half of play in the Swarm’s 19-11 victory against the Buffalo Bandits on Jan. 28.
“It’s great to see him get the recognition that he deserves for his hard work,” coach Mike Lines said. “He came in as a young kid as a rookie last year and this year he’s really stepped it up. His dedication and hard work has paid off.”
During his rookie season in 2011, Suitor was selected to the All-Rookie Team after he registered 10 points (5g, 5a) and a team-high 108 loose balls in 13 games.
“The opportunity to represent the Swarm is an honor,” Suitor said. “I love being here and it’s where I always wanted to be. It’s not just me going, I’m representing this whole team. Without the team, this wouldn’t have happened.”
