SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Swarm today announced that it will face the Rochester Knighthawks in a preseason contest on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Blue Cross Arena at 6 p.m. CT.
Minnesota will hold two training camp sessions prior to the preseason during Nov. 24-27 and Dec. 2-4 in Ontario.
Associate General Manager Joe Sullivan said that the opportunity to play Rochester in the preseason was twofold in that it provides the team with valuable experience against an Eastern opponent and serves as a great chance to build team chemistry.
“We didn’t have a lot of luck against Rochester or the East last year. We wanted to play an Eastern team in the preseason and we think we matchup well against them. More importantly though, is that there will be a lot of team building taking place. The team is going to be doing a lot of traveling as a unit that weekend to really get to know each other.”
Minnesota will also face the defending NLL champion Toronto Rock in a preseason matchup on Sunday, Dec. 18 at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario. The game is set for a 3 p.m. CT start.
