Swarm Announces Assistant Coaches

Saint Paul, MN – The Minnesota Swarm have announced the signing of Assistant Coaches Aime Caines and Joe Sullivan to complete their staff for the 2010 season. Caines and Sullivan join first year Head Coach Mike Lines, who was signed earlier this month.
 
General Manager Marty O’Neill announced the signings today, “We are pleased to add Joe and Aime to our staff. Both of these individuals have NLL experience so they know what it takes to be successful. They also have extensive playing and coaching experience at a number of levels. I’m looking forward to the energy and enthusiasm that they will bring to our organization.”


Caines, 34, is a native of Windsor, ON and spent last season with as the Director of the Swarm Youth Box League. Caines heads to the bench after a prolific playing career, where he was a member of the Columbus Landsharks, Montreal Express and Buffalo Bandits. His playing career began in Windsor, ON where he played minor lacrosse before five years in the Junior “A” league with the Sarnia Pacers. Caines also spent time in the Western Lacrosse Association (WLA) for the Newestminster Salmonbellies and in the Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) for the Brampton Excelsiors, Akwesasne Indians and Barrie Lakeshores. Caines currently resides in Woodbury and serves as an Assistant Coach for the University of Minnesota’s lacrosse team.
 
Sullivan, 40, is a native of Peterborough, ON and has been coaching lacrosse for 20 years. He served as an Assistant Coach in the NLL for the past two seasons with the Toronto Rock (2009) and the Chicago Shamrocks (2008). Sullivan is currently an Assistant Coach for the MSL’s Peterborough Lakers where he has helped lead the team to two Mann Cup championships. As a Head Coach, Sullivan was awarded “Coach of the Year” in Senior “B” Ontario. On the field he won a Junior “A” Minto Cup in 1989 and later played in the MSL for the Brooklin Redmen and Peterborough Lakers.
